This is in a cavern at Ta Akbil Ha, between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, in a torrential rain. The only light source is from the mouth of the cavern on the right. The light in the water is reflected from splashes of water dripping into the cavern from above.

I had no rain gear for either myself or photo equipment, and precious little equipment other than a camera. Making this image started as an attempt to get shelter from the storm.

I cannot wait to go back, in the rainy season, with some proper gear.
